Your Wedding Day

That one special day where you invest so much time and money to ensure that everything is perfect. The most important thing to keep in mind though is that it is YOUR day, and you want quality photographs that will provide memories long into your marriage.

I enjoy spending time with my clients and getting to know them. This helps to ensure that the day runs smoothly and you are comfortable with me snapping away throughout the day.

Over the past few years of working with clients I have customised my wedding packages to suit everyone. The full details of the packages available can be found on the 'packages' page. What makes my packages stand out from those of other photographers is that I spend a minimum of eight hours with you, ensuring that all the key moments of your special day are captured.

Much of my business comes from referrals from friends, family and previous clients. As a way to say thank you for any paid booking received by Tromac Photography the person referring the client will receive a $20 gift card to a shopping centre (or equivalent similar) in their area, along with a certificate for a free portrait sitting with Tromac Photography (valued at $80). Any subsequent referral will be rewarded with a $40 gift card. It's the least I can do to say thanks.

Frequently asked questions

Q. I have a friend/relative who is good with a camera, why should I pay for a photographer?

A. This is often the first decision regarding photography that you must consider. From an experienced point of view it is very important that you make the correct decision as you can't redo the day or blame your friend or relative if the photos aren't up to standard. A professional photographer will be timely and spend a significant amount of time with you to ensure the photos are a good representation of the event. A professional photographer is experienced working with individuals, couples and groups which helps everyone feel at ease and makes the process flow smoothly. A professional photographer is always on the lookout for those key candid photographs and shots such as those special decorations you found for the day. A professional photographer makes use of colour laboratories for any prints and spends many hours after the wedding checking and making sure your photographs are perfect in everyway. And most importantly a professional photographer uses high quality equipment which provide consistent and quality results.

Below is an example of the difference between a professionally shot photograph and one taken by a guest on a compact camera.

The key differences are that the compact camera photograph appears very flat and muted in colours, it is over exposed and poorly composed.

Q. Okay I want a professional photographer, how do I find the right one?

A. It is important that above all else you are satisfied with the quality of the work by the photographer. Check the photographers website and view a sample of their work. If you are happy with the quality then speak with the photographer and get a feel for their communication skills as these are important on your day. If the photographer has a studio organise to visit and see the work in person as prints look far better than photos on a screen. For me, I work from home and have lost my office space, so for the time being I don't have any sample prints to show. Importantly make sure that the photographer you speak to and the work you see is going to be the person who is there on the day taking your photo.

Q. Why are wedding photographers so expensive?

A. Before getting into this field I use to ask the same question. A significant amount of time is put in by the photographer after the wedding day, this extra work goes into checking the photos, organising prints, designing albums and that's just a part of it. The most important reason for the pricing is that for a full time photographer to make a living out of their art they need to make enough money to cover the expenses and make a living. There is a difference in quality between a professional photographer and amateur photographer and the work both produce, this difference is well worth the investment in your memories.

Q. Can our guests take photographs at the same time as you do?

A. Over the past few years I have always allowed guests to take photos whilst I do. This has commonly posed a problem with the subjects of the photographs looking at different cameras, ruining the shot of the photographer you have invested time and money in. I will allow guests to shoot but ask that only one or two at a time take photos and stand right next to me so that the subjects are looking the right way.
